As for critiques, I think the proportion in the body is off a bit. The head is fine, but the shoulders are too long and square. His legs are shorter than the rest of his body, which also makes the arms off as well. Other than that, good job :3!

Though your body proportions are off. it's usually a 1:7 ratio.
The head being one,
The body usually 2 or 2 1/2. and the legs being 4 or 3 1/2

Yours is a 1:5 ratio, which is usually reserved for much shorter people. though his height suggests that. by to looks of it.
head 1. Body 1 1/2, legs 2 1/2 you need to give his...well, to be blunt, crotch area/ hip area more appearance. It looks like his torso has an oddly short waist and crotch area and then goes straight to fitting legs.

and the shoulders are too wide.

I do shoulders by measurign the head's width
(--)

then, finding the center of the face,
(-+-)

and taking the heads width from that point out in both directions.
-(-+-)-

(mathmatically, if the heads width is two, the shoulders width should be four. etc.)
That usually give correct looking shoulders.

Yeah, I know the ratios are off XD I didn't feel like making him TOO realistic, but I didn't want to do a chibi, either.

Those are just the ones I use, theres no garuntee that they're right.

I personally just close one eye. look at the person's head , use my fingers to measure it, and then try and use them to get the measurements. XD It apparently works.
